VRO Pump

I want to by pass the VRO pump on my 115 evinrude ocean pro. I am going to disconnect the oil input line and plug it. Do i need to plug the nipple on the pump? Also i have black, brown ,purple and grey wires going to the pump, do i need to disconnect any or all of those wires. Anything else that i need to be aware of? Any information on this issue would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have not bypassed the VRO on my 115 Ocean Pro, but I did on my 70 'Rude. All I did was remove the tank and wiring, put a bolt in the oil inlet hose (I left about 2" extending from the motor) and unplugged the harness on the side of the powerhead. I can’t remember the colors, but it was on the port side of the 70 'Rude. That plug keeps the low/no oil warning from sounding since the tank is removed.

Thanks LW i’ll give it a shot.
