Wader Question

I have a question for those of you that wear waders for your colder weather yak fishing. Do you wear the ones with built in boots or, do your wear the “stockingfoot” ones and wear a shoe/boot over it? I have been wanting some waders and found some nice breathable ones that are stocking foot but, wanted to get some input before buying.

Thanks

I wear boot foot, but wish I’d bought stocking foot. The stocking foot is more comfortable IMO

Once you find a pair of good sock foot waders, get the breatheable ones, take them with you to the store when you buy boots. Put on your waders put on the boot and make sure you can walk around for about 30 min and still be comfortable. The shoes I use for wading were too small to go over my waders, I put them on anyways loosening up thelaces but when i wore them they would make my feet fall asleep, bad news… Usually one to two sizes larger than you normally wear will do it for the boots.

Good info.

I’m a stocking foot guy. Much more comfortable, and no worries about puncturing the sole of your boot.
