So I have had the urge to go hit up some wade spots. I have still seen cruising fish through these wade spots. Now I am thinkin I need a set of waders to get after them… Yeah I could take the boat, but when you need to get a couple of cast in quick nothin beats wading out. Brings the question of how much I would use them, brands, and what nots… Looking for opinions about the use of waders here… Looking at an orvis set for around 300…So things around that price point Thanks!
I go into 30 degree streams in the middle of winter in a $80 neoprene waders and I’m always warm. The most I would spend on waders is 200. The reddington sonic seam waders are awesome and I think are around $230
I honestly really like my $50 frogg toggs bootfoot waders. Just a thought, get camo or green or brown in.case you get an invite to suck hunt or want camo in clear water

I have a pair of neoprene waders and they get too hot for me here… I would look at the Redington Sonic Pro waders… breathable and no stitched seams to leak on you. I had a buddy who wore them in Alaska and basically lived in them for like a week and a half and LOVED them… said they are the best waders he ever wore… I am picking up a pair next month for the same purpose as you…

'Watched a guy in waders/boots step in a soft spot, stick a foot, and go down on a knee. Waders filled with water. He had to undo boots and waders and swim out of them…sort of swim…more slog. Then, retrieve waders and boots. Luckily, it was warm. Would be a nasty cold chore in cold water. Watch your step

Get breathable waders and pair them with Cabela’s wading pants, that makes them good for cold and warm weather fishing. Always wear a wading belt to help keep them from filling up if you go over the top. They also make a strap that goes around the ankle and sole of the boot to keep them from getting sucked off by the mud.

I would definitely get breathable ones. Like it was said, you can wear long johns and fleece pants if it is real cold. I think neoprene is a thing of the past now. For trout streams, get stocking foot and separate boots, for wading in mud or surf get boot foot.
I plan on living forever, so far so good
