First wading trip of the year on HHI. Water very clear but pretty windy . Saw 12 trailers on two adjoining flats and caught 3 on traditional gold spoon. As tide starting running out , when bite usually turns off as soon as tide turns , went to a smaller shallow marsh area where reds leave a larger marsh area. Saw at least 20 + reds making a bee line to deep water from the flats. Caught 2 more. Last year did not have much luck in this spot since fish were not feeding- just getting off flat. Today had better luck by getting fly right in front of them . Perhaps a good sign of a great year wading for reds.
Was that a Gold Spoon Fly or Gold Johnson Silver Minnow?
You should have had a Bamboo Fly Rod.
