Wadmacallit 3/18 Oregon inlet

Fished today. Great weather and great fishing. Hooked into a bluefin in the first hour and boated it after a two and a half hour fight. Angler, Brock, had no idea what he was in for. Back to the dock at 4 and weighed her in at 215. Lots of fish up here.

great work Gasper on the bluefin, any signs of yellowfins, when you headed back to chuck town

No yellowfins yesterday but the carolinian caught 3 the day before. Dennis on a-salt-weapon got one earlier in the week. The water is still a little cold. We will be back in charleston mid april for our first charter in sc.

How is the inlet with the main channel filling in?

the main span is completely filled. you have to go through the south span and make a hard right for about 100 yards before cutting into the marked channel. we run the crack, but i heard a few boats grounding on the inside (hells gate)but that seems to be pretty typical.
last week they had a big meeting about dredging and $$$. At this point there is not enough money to dredge past July, and if they get a NE that they wouldn’t have enough $$$ to open her back up. The buoys getting pulled and the inlet getting shut is a big possibility.
