Does anyone here know any throw ins near wadmalaw sound? I can’t really find anything closer than Limehouse.
Would Cherry Point landing on Bohicket Creek be closer than Limestone? I do most of my kayak fishing there but haven’t tried accessing the sound from that spot.
maybe launching from yonge’s island shipyard? if they let ya. could probably park at stono ferry and carry yak down to the water and its a short paddle from there

There is a public boat landing at the end of Parishville Road off of Toogoodoo Road. It’s Toogoodoo Creek and it leads to the ICW and the Sound. I would use outgoing tide to get out and incoming to come back. At Metal Trades, the shipyard at the end of SR 165 in Meggett, they would probably let you launch. If not, check with the guys at the Stevens Towing dock. I know they don’t mind, Mike.
thanks much for the help! I can’t wait to explore that area and i keep hearing about the fish there. will probably try to talk my way into launching right in the sound. let you know how it goes…
side note: what a beautiful day, i’m about to go launch at dnr and fish ft. sumpter, first day out in weeks!
yes, stono ferry is a golf course.
not sure about an address. im sure you could simply ask any homowner living on the sound if you could launch your yak from their dock and they wouldnt mind. howd it go at sumpter?

more windy than we expected. saw a couple of boils on the flats near the fort, but the water was real muddy, only about 10" or so of vis. i think i made five casts all day. Probably should have put in at folly, or sol lagre instead. Limehouse is great on a low if you time it right, but the tides there are so late it wouldn’t have worked yesterday.
i probably wont pull a low tide paddle out there again unless I can make a whole afternoon out of it and get to morris island to explore a little bit. nice sunset, but ruthless gnats. two guys in a new whaler bay boat were stuck right in that cove next to dnr in like 8" of water as we paddled past them. now high tide from s------ park is another story
