I live in the Wagener Terrace neighborhood about 5 blocks above the Citadel. I just got a kayak (Native Ultimate) and I’ve been looking for a nearby kayak launch in the neighborhood to explore and fish the Ashley. Unfortunately, I haven’t found much.
Any Ideas? I’ve scoped out a number of potential launch areas near Lowndes Grove where the road’s not far from the river but I have not seen any official ramps or anything.
If you drag it you can hop in at Brittlebank, you could make the drive to Wappoo on a calm day I am actually planning on making that trip as soon as it gets warm again (4 months) if you wanna join me then, but yes those are probably the nearest

Be careful putting in a Wappoo. The current RIPS through there plus lots of boat traffic.
There’s a little neighborhood landing off hwy 61 in WA. It’s a short paddle down a creek to the Ashley. You can throw a yak in the Stono at edgewater. County Farm landing on the AShley is just a few miles up from you as well.

But Too Busy, such good fishing is right around the Wappoo landing haha

There is some good fishing within 100 yds of the landing. Actually, probably closer to the riverland terrace landing come to think of it. I usually do the ride down the cut from the Stono as it gets close to slack tide. That ride gets exciting at mid flow.

exciting hell, sounds more like strapping a 5 hp on the back of the kayak, hopefully you don’t getting any idiots deciding its necessary to plane out through there about got thrown into the wall one day when a 30’ found it necessary to test out there top speed thru the cut

Drop under the Cosgrove bridge. I used to drop there and have my wife pick me up at Brittlebank so I could just fish with the outgoing tide.
We’re stuck between Barack and a hard place. Hide their food stamps under their working boots.

Brittlebank at the dock next to the marina.
Nah, I have paddled only in 2 hours or less with a buddy. Fishing at a reasonable pace and you get the best of tide, 4 hours max.
