Went to the south today and crushed the hoo’s.Started on the 550 line and worked to the 600.We never left 150-180 feet of water ended up going 7 for 11. lots of cutoffs also lots of cudas after lunch the wahoo bite was killer between 7am and 10am. Then we hit the storm on the way home and it was badass that all i can say.
It was one hour of total hell we were right in the middle of it i have never seen the ocean build up that quick.I think the seas at one time went from 1-2to 6-8 They say the air temp droped 20 degrees. As for the whoos 25-40 lbs but it was just a damm good bite. Thanks for the shout
Grady, that high speed stuff is…odd, to say the least.I think I got it out of my system though. Will do it again, but you are riding. The one we caught was a nice fish…several sliced skirts? HOW? We got into that first cell 6mi. outside the jetties, what a storm.I dont think water has come over my bow like that,if I can recall…
if thats grady my guardian angel, thanks for taking the lead through that monster storm with your radar and nice plow-very considerate of you. grady radiowed and let us in on their plan for getting through the storm and invited us to follow when he saw our white faces on our 24 footer looking at the storm bearing down on us 20 miles from harbor. we owe you one. it made an otherwise tough situation manageable and at least feel safer. time to get a radar and a 31 cabo. oh-we got 2 kings and 3 small dolphin between 135 and 200’ but missed on our targeted hoo but getting through the storm unscathed was the daymaker:wink:
Doghouse
I am just glad we made it home. That my friend was one of the worst cells i have ever been through, glad we saw you. What a way to meet somebody.
Hang in there ,it is like anything new you try its different to say the least. As for the storm i picked it up 24 mi from the rocks and it was 10 miles wide and deep. TTHANK GOD FOR RADAR AND PRAYER
I agree on time to get radar too, we couldn’t tell how thick the storm was so we pushed thru, don’t know if we could have waited offshore until it passed ? Glad to be at the dock safe though.
