Weather kept changing hourly but took a chance with the small weather window to take advantage of the Wahoo and BFT bite latley. Hit the rocks @ 400am for the ride to GT Hole on glass. Awesome ride and the trip 300s ate up the miles. Lines in at 6 and it was a little slow to start but it wasn’t long before the action picked up. Water temp. 72deg to start and ended the day @ 73. lots of flyers later in the day and the action picked up, mostly trash, caught a good many Little Tunny and Ajs, and a 42# Wahoo. lost a few good Wahoo after strong runs, to cut wire and mono rigs. A few slingers charged the spread and we added them to the mix. Wind picked up @ the predictded 9AM time and blew steady the rest of the day@ 15Kts,east! Made for a good ride home and about 20mi out the wind just died.
Really have to produce to get a invite on The Dara Lynn anymore, the bar is set really high at lunch time! I spent 12 hrs sat smoking a brisket to make sandwiches with Datel pepper sauce and Coleslaw.

Jonas had some Venison Pastrami (which takes 10 days to prepare)and was the best Deer meat I have ever ate! Jordan brought some Black Bean Garlic Sauce to dip the Wahoo sashimi in and it was awesome too!Fish don’t always bite but we sure do! Great way to knock off the cobb webs and start the season with James, Jordan, Jonas, John and Capt Eric.
If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.
Nice report. It started blowing near the fort around noon pretty hard and I remember hoping that everyone that tried it today would make it home safe.
Good first trolling trip of the season and it was promising to see the early dolphin smashing the baits. I still can’t believe how many wahoo cut offs we had, especially the ones that bit through the wire. Great food as usual. Wahoo sashimi with a little soy and the galic dip was a first for me but totally good eats and a great way to use otherwise wasted scraps from a big fish. The only part that didn’t work was the belly meat because it was too tough. The brisket sandwiches and pastrami were epic. Lots of names that begin with J.

Wahoo on a plug.

Tight work fellas! Good to see that old man out man handling fish!
My advice is my opinion only. I may have gotten that opinion from something I read while sitting on the toilet. Please keep that in mind when reading my posts, the information may not be correct.
Nice pictures. With flavor

I cooked up some of the fresh wahoo (never frozen) and it turned out awesome. I have noticed that freezing wahoo makes it taste kind of fishy but maybe that’s just me.

Eric needs to keep that boat for at least one more year! He wouldn’t get top dollar right now for it, you know with the bad economy and all. Congrats on the day!
Wahoo early morning wake up call…

My biggest worry is that my wife (when I’m dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.
