I’ve been reading a lot of fishing forums/posts on this web site for several years but never have joined or posted a report. Thought I post our trip from Saturday. First, want to say thanks to Capt - Jonathan on Reel-A-Lure for the invite. It was just the two of us fishing and our target was solely for Wahoo and it paid off. Worked some of our favorite Wahoo numbers north on the ledge between 180’-300’. Bite was on early before the wind switched to NE.
Dropped lines at about 7:45 had 1st Hoo (30-35lbs)in the box at 8:30. Hit in 180’- 200’ on a custom color Bart - San Sal Pro. Dropped lines again and had the second & third Wahoo in the box at 10:00. That’s right a double! The shotgun was hit 1st. As we started clearing the lines, the flat line got tagged. That’s when the fun started. Two fishermen, two fish on and 5 lines to clear. Cleared all the lines and boated both fish. 2nd Hoo was (25-30lbs)and 3rd Hoo was (30-35lbs). Shotgun was a Bart Super Pro Jet custom color and the flat line was old reliable don’t leave home without it Yozuri Bonita. Fish hit in 250’.
Put lines out again and had several knock downs but no hookups. Then the wind changed from the E to NE about 11:30 and the bite slowed down from there. Had a couple more knockdowns but a very slow afternoon. Didn’t have a single hit on lures rigged w/ballyhoo. Will post pics soon.
Thanks lynnmcd for the photo tip.
