Can anyone hel me out. I have been dreaming of catching a red on a fly for the longest. I recently bought a reddington cross water 8wt and have tied up a bunch of flies for reds but my prob is I don’t have a boat and I’m not sure what to look for to find a flat I can drive to and walk on. Any help would b greatly appreciated. I promise not blow up any spots if want to send me a pm and help me out. I don’t really have any friends that fly fish so your spots would b safe with me.
Where are you at?
1802 Action Craft. 115 yamaha.
You can go with me sometime. Send me a pm…as far as walk to areas, there are tons…several that I see people walking are the ones on the way to Sully’s. Check google earth, it can be a tremendous tool. There are wadable flats in each of the major waterways in charleston.
I am in mt pleasant nbk. Where u at
Definitely don’t miss the offer from 23Sailfish.
As long as a guy is putting in the effort, I’m always willing to help. My gesture will be less than Ricky’s though. Send me a PM.
you mentioned Sullys, is that a walkable flat to the left crossing over Ben Sawyet, on the backside of Rifle Range ??

Two things, short grass and feeder creeks!
Dont mean to be a smartass although it may sound it, its just something ive noticed. Ive looked at google earth many times trying to find other flats to wade, but i cant tell a difference in the height of the grass on it. All the ones ive found were either from going by it in a boat, or driving by in a car.

Zoom in and rotate the screen…it will change from two to three dimensional. Color of grass matters too.
