I fished out of Remleys yesterday and what a wonderful day for december. I fished the flat beside the new pier and picked up a couple of small reds and trout before i decided to work my way to the 526 bridge. I trolled most of the way before stopping to get mullet and shrimp before the terminal, but it took forever to get there. Both the wind and current were working against me. I paddled past the terminal and fished the banks by the bridge. There was a ton of shrimp and mullet in the water and the reds where pushing hard. My arms were worn out after i decided to head back from landing 5 27-31" (8-11lbs) reds. I managed a few small trout too. On light tackle those reds really tested my equipment making run after run. On the way back i picked up several more larger small trout before calling it a day. I have no idea how far i paddled yesterday, but i do not think i will paddle it against the current both ways again. All and all though a great day.
The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad. </font id=“size2”>
