Went out today with a buddy of mine to see if we couldn’t round up a few fish. We made it on the water an hour or two before low tide and fished until dark. The weather was great but the bite was slow. The first two to three hours we fished everything we had in the boat(artificals)with only one 15" flounder to show for it. OH WAIT I almost forgot my buddy caught(snagged)the smallest fish ever caught on a DOA shrimp!!
Caught the flounder on a gulp shrimp.
After our slow start we decided to go try for some sheepshead. We managed to get a couple in the boat but the bite was slow and we missed quite a few. We droped some cut bait down while fishing for sheeps and caught six or seven overslot reds. It was a another great day on the water and can’t wait to get back out.

Thanks guys everyday I get on the water is a great day for me. I don’t have to catch fish to enjoy being out however it definitely doesn’t hurt.
Optiker I’ve been out quite a few times over the winter when the weather allowed it. Unfortunately when I did get out couldn’t seem to catch a break. This was by far the worst winter of fishing for me.

DDS, what pound braid are you pulling those suckers out with, for them to not get all around those pilings? i fish similiar submerged structure and they always seem to run back into it.You must have a trick for that… I horsed out a couple this weekend on 10 lb braid(very nervous). Nice work on those guys by the way.
20lb power pro they do get in there from time to time.
