Wando 4/29

Fished a couple of hours either side of low yesterday. Fishing was slow except for an hour window; then it was fast and furious with a couple of doubles.

Here’s one of the better ones

I had the same experience yesterday fishing docks and flats on the Wando. Great bite for about two hours around the low and then nothing. I’ve had that same experience on my last couple of trips. My incoming tide spots are not producing well. I can find fish but they won’t bite. The bait is starting to get a little thicker in the creeks and I saw tons of grass shrimp and mullet in the creeks. Nice schools of menhaden in the river too.

You guys are killing me! Have not been down since Feb. Hoping to make the get together at Sparkleberry Sunday. I’ll be winging it in fresh water.

Beautiful fish, man! Were you able to weigh him?

Nope, but based on the others I’ve caught it would go a little over 10 lbs

We are finding out that the incoming tide is not producing as has been our past experience. Bite is really good on the outgoing and the closer to full low tide, the better. Well, that’s fishing, adapt or be left behind!

Well done Tommy. With viz like that it would be tempting to dive there.
