Hit the water around 7AM. I was a little worried about catching bait with the high tide, but the mullet were everywhere and didn’t have any trouble with them. However, I could not catch any shrimp to save my life, which I assume held me back…big time.
I had electrical issues with my trolling motor so I was confound to anchoring up. I fished a few grass lines and oyster rakes. Only managed 1 14" drum and a baby blue-fish on finger mullet with a carolina rig. Also tried mullet on a popping cork, without luck. Used the last 30min to catch a 1/2 lbs of keeper shrimp for dinner for the wife.
Saw a lot of people out this morning and it was a nice morning to be out, esp after all the (much needed) rain.
