Wando 8/13

Went up the wando today after giving up on trying the offshore thing. I’m off this week and I’m doing some fishing!!

Bait was everywhere and before long I had about 50 fm and only about 20 shrimp. Stopped at my first spot and immediately start catching trout. All too small, all on shrimp. All were 12-13".

Quickly ran out of shrimp and by now the tide was low, so I went to try another spot for some more shrimp. Found em!! After the third cast with the net, I had about 300 shrimp (I think, couldn’t see the bottom of the live well any more).

So I went to try another spot and wound up catching about a dozen or so rat reds. Then moved to a dock and caught three over slot reds.
Finished up with a few more small trout in another spot and called it a day.

Long day but very enjoyable didn’t catch any keepers, but still very fun.

i only catch decent shrimp by mistake. any tips on netting them?

I didn’t have that much shrimp on my bait last shrimping season. This season should be good. I wouldn’t call em decent, they were just big enough to not get out of the net. There was just so many in the last creek I stopped in, I couldn’t help but catch a bunch.
