Hit the low tide on friday and started on big on my first cast. Fish ran under a dock and broke me off. But that was just the start of one of my best days. Boated 8 reds in all (25", 26", 20", 12", 30-1/2", 12", 26-12", 19-1/2") .
Set a new kayak best for me at 31-1/2" with this one.
Lost one that straightened out my hook!
Forgot to hold this one out for a proper picture.
Right back at it on Saturday. Not as busy, only hooked up four times but it was just as fun.
20" was hooked bad so i got it back in the water right away so no pic.
The next 3 were 25-1/2", 26" and 29-1/2. I thought the big one was going to be a lot bigger because i caught it on my smallest rod. I had to chase it down to keep it from spooling me. Didn’t want to break another rod.
Returned for more on Sunday. skunked! Didn’t even see a fish and got rained out on Monday. I’m a bit of a fair weather fisherman.
Still throwing johnson silver (and gold) minnow spoons as well as bass assassin on z-man jig heads. The spoons are working really well in the cloudy water and the sea shads in the clearer water. Working banks right up to the edge and jumping the lure off the bottom in short hops. Ill try to get some of the videos up soon.
