Began the morning at 5:30am and netted some live mullet between 3-4" in length, just a few yards from the landing i was at, very very dark water. As the sun started to peak out i decided to drift fish some muddy banks with oyster bars, i was able to pick up a few small flounder and a 16" Flounder in a bout 3 inches of water (thought i snagged an oyster shell at first). As the tide started to move in, sun starting to sit higher up and not able to find the Reds by the banks, my Dad and I decided to hit up some docks, mainly targeting docks with feeder creeks next to or behind the dock. Threw out a live mullet on a Carolina rig near the outside corner of a dock where i saw some shrimp jumping, it was about 2-3’ depth here and surrounded by oysters. I ended up landing a 27" Red and then a 19" Red to follow. With the tide starting to fill in i just needed a trout for the slam, i paddled further up river to bend in the creek and started pitching a 3/16 oz Eyestrike jig w/ a pearl blue glimmer paddle tail, had a few strikes and misses then eventually landed a small 10-12" trout and called it a day.
Good report and nice work!
Great catching, nice report. Where did you find that measuring board, it looks very useful.
Be careful what you ask for, you might just get it!
Thanks! It’s a Frabill measuring board, got it at Palmetto State Armory in Mt pleasant a while back, I’ve also seen them at Dicks & Amazon sells them as well . When closed is measures at 19” and extends to 36”. Easy to store in a kayak
