Fished Upper Wando around Paradise. Never been before. Thanks to all that offered area suggstions. Didnt set any records, but learned alot about the area. Caught 2- slot sized Reds in 2-days, along with a smaller Trout and a 10-lb Catfish. Really nice areas. If I knew what I was doing, I think I could have done really good. But happy overall. For at least the Weekend offered my Teenage Son an Idea that there is more to life than Girls, and Big Block Gen-2 Camaro’s…Looking forward to another Trip down.
I agree with ditching the girls, they’re nothing but headaches. But not the cars!
Question…how were you fishing? I’ve been fishing up that way for 15+ years and never caught a catfish…but lots of trout/reds…maybe you were too much in the channel? Just thinking out loud…if you caught him on a grassline under a popping cork, disregard this post

I caught catfish around there last year after the flood too, in areas where I have never caught them. I suppose they washed down from the Francis Marion forest with all the water from Matthew.

I have been fishing the Wando for going on 25 years. I have caught a handful of gafftopsail catfish. Actually caught one the other day in less than a foot of water that was very fat.

You may want to post this in the Kayak section as well. Lots of people use that ramp with their kayaks.
