Got in the water about 7am bc of terrible traffic so missed the tide we were going for. Was a slow morning then as the winds picked up so did the fish a little bit. Ended up with one 15" red (tagged and released) a few trout and croakers. Didnt get any pictured bc all the bites came at the same time one after another. Going to try again tomorrow if weather permitting. Anyone else have any luck today?

Being on the water is a blessing, catching fish is a bonus!
“Come follow me.” Jesus said “I will make you a fisher of men.”

Thats what im reading all over the place. Feel like the bite forgot about me bc im having problems getting more than one red a trip. Always seems to be a 24" or bigger which i cant complain about. But come tournament time that isn’t going to cut it but use to just fishing them in summer. Been out the past few days and ita getting expensive going out for one fish in 6+ hours a day. Ik its all about putting in time and earning your dues but a little lift me up would help the fishing spirts lol. Finding schools of looks like 100+ but barley bigger than my bait…i need to be guided from the nursery to the after hours club lol.
Capt. Buddy B: whats your normal day like…just wondering

Not 100% sure about your situation obviously, but when I first started looking for schools in the winter time years ago, I stumbled upon 50 or so ‘schoolie reds’…couldn’t barely coordinate myself to set my push pole down quietly and make a cast…but after closer inspection, my near heart attack was caused by a solid school of mullets. If they are “barely the size of your baits” I wouldn’t worry too much about them not biting, when you find a school of slot/overslot fish and still having problems getting a bite, then I’d be more concerned (presentation, stealth, pressure, etc). Also, one time in the everglades fishing for baby tarpon, had a huge school come to us, I didn’t see them until they were about 20 feet away…my buddy was poling from the platform, I start yelling, “puh puh puh Poons!!!”…of course he had seen them coming way before and knew they were mullet and just wanted to get my reaction…lol. Goodluck bud, keep us posted, can’t beat sight fishing!!

Sometimes you just have to have a little fun out on the boats to fill in the dead time. Yeah were not throwing at those just spotting 3 or 4 schools of them by the hundreds the past few days. Didnt get out today.
