any idea what the outgoing tide current speed is? say from the 41 bridge down to hobcaw yacht club area?
It will vary depending on the moon. I have seen the tide drift in lazily and I have seen it rip through.

I have seen about 3-5knots. The current can be very strong on that river. Just go stand by the Wando bridge (hwy 41) and watch it around the pilings. Its an easy 3-5 knots.
I have seen 3-4’ standing breaking waves in the spring with an outgoing tide and a strong south wind.
