Cannot find info about the Wando River Marina or boat landing. I see it on a map off of 41 but would like to know if it’s a private or public landing. I heard that you can pay to launch there but they don’t have a website to get any information from.
Anyone ever launch from there before? What are the details on this place? I appreciate the help
I don’t know the details on the ramp, but I’m sure someone can fill in the gaps. The ramp is off rte 41, north side of the bridge. I know you need a key card to get in the gate, but don’t know who you get it from. Also, you pay by the year. It’s a popular ramp. I’m sure you can get the info. It is a two lane ramp, with a floating dock to tie up to. I’ve used it twice, so can’t tell you a lot about conditions, but the outgoing can get going pretty hard over there.
Good luck!
There is a small trailer sitting by the entrance. The owner is there during the week. His name is Joe Sharp. I believe the fee is around $395 per year.
I appreciate the input. I may just have to hop in the car and head over and see what’s going on. I don’t need an annual pass. Just want to drop a boat in there once in a while and maybe pay a small launch fee like people do over at the IOP Marina.

Mike, I don’t think they do that. It is either annual pass, or no access. They are pretty strict over there.
The marina next door does not have a ramp, but they have great docks and a restaurant with a great view! I have talked with the marina guys on the phone, and they have been very friendly.
I remember using that Dock back in the day,had to go in and register in the gas Station and then it was a honesty pay box. The ramp was a lil scarey but I used to fish out of there quite a lot. That was before 41 was a major route and all the home. I did check into a membership when my Niece lived in Park West. I love fishing the that area.

DolphinD, thank you. That’ll save me a trip. You mentioned the restaurant over there. Can you just pull up, dock and head into to get some food? Never been out that way.
Really? Been 2x, average food at best and incredibly overpriced…“marina store” is also a joke…cool view for sure but below average food…hopefully they get it together soon

Not to mention the decor in the place is aweful. So much potential, but fails to live up to it.

Well, I guess its what standard you are comparing to. I had a burger. It was good. I was not comparing it to High Cotton. Its a marina. Overpriced? I’ll agree on that.
The ramp is seperate business from the Marina. They were about full on their memberships earlier this year with a small waiting list but you might be able to get one over the winter as people cancel. Good people.
The Wando Grille, it is nice to have a restaurant on the water way up the Wando. If its really hot or a storm blows up you can tie up and get some shelter and something to eat. Nothing wrong with that. Plenty of space for boats to dock for the diners. They have the only conch fritters I know of in the Charleston area and they are pretty dang good. As far as overpriced, drink your own beers in your own boat then order one with a meal and you should come out alright for waterfront dining.
