Wando River Sun 12-4-11

Fished for a few hours today…about 2 hours before dead low and 2 hours after…Fishing is not what it was the last few weeks…Something’s changing…The fish are not stacked up around my docks like they were…did get about 7 or 8 today…all lower slot…water clear to 3 foot…water temp 60 degrees…all fish caught on MM on a straight line with 2 split shot…Threw some arties today with no luck…kinda hard to fish arties without my trolling motor…It’s in the shop!!!..Here are a few pics!!

Fished the Wando as well today…a couple of upper slot fish right away in the morning and 1 just over the slot a few hours later…fished ALL day…caught them with jerk baits and DOA shrimp < 2 ft of water…tried some sheepies as well, but only picked up 1 decent one and and 4 or 5 little ones

AWESOME striperskiff!!..you must be up on the flats in that carolina skiff…I can’t get up on em too well with a 17’ seafox…I could get up their somewhat but I don’t have a push pole and my trolling motor is in the freakin shop!!!..hope to get that back soon because my guess is with the conditions changing, that is where the reds have moved to…the last two weeks they were stacked up around some docks…but they weren’t there today in the numbers they had been!!!

Bugs, I meet you this morning today at the boat landing. I was in the white HPX Maverick. It was a pleasure meeting you. Thought that was you today but I was not sure. We caught 25 to 30 reds todays and 10 -12 yesterday. Saw plenty of fish, on some flats the bite was agressive and on some flats the would not touch it, we just kept moving until we found some hungry fish. All fish were caught on gulp baits in 2ft. to 6" of water. Saw several schools with 4-6 fish in them and a few schools with 20-25 in them. Did not catch a trout all day. Left once the water reached the grass.

Nice to meet you Pot Likker!!..There are some good people on our waters and it’s always a pleasure meeting new people…Hope to share or swap info next time we see each other!!..Like I said above, my
i-pilot trolling motor is in the shop (Charleston Marine on Dorchester Rd) being repaired and without it, my fishing is limited!!..It’s that time of year when I need it to cruise along the flats and operate it with the remote while I stand up on my cooler seat in search for some schools!!!..Hope to get it back this week!!..See ya on the water and tight lines!!!
