Met the brother-in-law at the landing today with the same mission as yesterday: catch, release, repeat!!! The only difference this time is my youngens weren’t with me which meant time to fish new areas and try to find the mother load. We fished several new potential spots that yielded a few fish but nothing like expected and I made the call to hit a bank that has been begging my attention since last year because I have caught em there before but it has been years ago. Low and behold the fish gods shed some light on this well kept secret and wam bam to the pan it was on. Fun is the best way to describe it. Kept only 4 for dinner and threw back a boat load.
Glad you were on fish Friday. I was fishing the Wando with my son and couldn’t find but 3 trout. The wind was blowing pretty good and decided to get out the river and fish creeks. Used mud minnows & Vudoo shrimp under cork, swinn trout trick and paddleZ

Artificial is what we were throwing and used two colors that seemed irresistible to these hungry fish. If they missed the bait on their first attempt trust me this meal was not getting away. They would come back until the hook found its mark. Trying to get a pattern on the river fish vs. the creek fish and it still is puzzling since we have only been fishing high water, but as long as it is flowing its on! Ebb tide the fishing is real slow to almost nonexistent. That has been the only real consistency between these fish.
