With this GREAT fall weather we are having I decided that I couldn’t pass up on going out today to fish the incoming tide until dark. I took along one of our newer CF members EquipMgr in hopes of puting him on a few fish here in Charleston.
We hit the water an hour or two before low tide and made a run for an area I hoped to catch a few reds and trout. We fished mudminnows and grubs on 3/8oz jig heads and caught a few small reds and a couple of trout. I was hoping for a little better action so we moved on and went to try for a few sheepshead. The sheep action lately has been great at one point today I pulled up two at one time. After we ran thru our supply of fiddler crabs and caught somewhere around 30 fish we moved on to see if we could find some redfish. We fished a couple spots and caught a few small reds. I decided that we should try one last spot before the sun went down. I’m glad that we did it was a great spot to end the day on. We ended up catching seven black drum all between 18" to 22" and a 32" redfish. It was a great day on the water and I hope that EquipMgr had as good of a time as I did.
Surfwrangler No secret just go!!! My girl would rather me be on the water and happy over staying home and bothering her all day. Plus I have always fished several days a week since we met 12 years ago so she dosen’t know any different.
