We put in around 8am and shot over to the Wando and headed way back in one creek to try a hot spot. It turned up a couple keepers and 5-6 small trout. After letting the no see-ums get us for a while we left the creek for the bigger water. Right at the end of the creek we saw trout or we thought trout jumping but couldn’t get anything to bite.
After getting skunked for about an hour, we headed to the “spot”. With the tide ripping we couldn’t get a bite, so pulled the anchor and started to drift. BAM! Started nailing the trout drifting until the tide started to slack off. So, back to the “spot”. Couldn’t get them off the hook until we ran out of minnows. They wouldn’t hit artificial, so we called it a day and made it back just before the rain.
Epic day. Over 50 caught, 14 keepers with couple bluefish and 30" redfish to cap it off.
