Wando

Got out on the river to see 20 kayaks lined up on the bank as well as 6 boats. moved up river to no fish but good bit of bait and more kayaks. Came back to more boats with folks that were stupid driving them crazy, must have been 30 boats doing circles with kids on tubes driving like they had no clue anyone else was there or where the banks were. Got out of the water as quick as I could in order not to be run into. Had several boats not pulling anyone do circles around me. Come on winter.

Couldn’t agree more! Cmon cooler weather!!!

Yep, the tubers on the Wando are crazy.

I agree after 10:00am it’s time to go home.

Fishing is the chance to wash one’s soul with pure air.

Yep, I avoid fishing down there on the weekends. You’ll get run over and won’t catch anything.

Were you around the paradise area? I was there Saturday and fought the same thing.

Yes sir, could not believe all the folks trying to fish the same area and then I come back there about 2 and there must have been 30 boats pulling people on tubes

I feel ya man I cant complain about the crowd because I was out there too but I will complain about the lack of etiquette. Got to our spot and anchored around 7:15am.by 10:00am we had one guy casting within 10 feet of our floats after we told him we caught a few. Another guy tangled with two of our lines becauseyep he casted directly into them when there was all the open shoreline he wanted to the right of us. Finally, two guys basically ran over our floats twice with their rigs. Picked up after that debacle and found a new spot. I just dont get it and probably never will. I wish there was a way to educate people on respect and courtesy on the water.

You’re a better man than me. I probably would have walked on water to let somebody know how I really felt. Casting across rigs would not have went over well with me at all!

Ya’ll were jammed up on that bank back to back, good spot but dang

Wait til Carolina Park gets built out.

Somebody needs to tell all the tubers to watch air jaws on shark week. Those big bull sharks might get the same idea one day. I bet then you’d have the place to yourself.

It would only take one.

ever seen a tuber or wake boarder get thrown into an oyster bed in one of the creeks?..Boat buzzed by me one day and the tuber got thrown shortly after…I almost felt bad when I seen him yelling and all the blood when he was pulled out…ALMOST, but then I had to laugh. Gotta know better than that.

i was very close to seeing that happen in north inlet years back, and in return i got two middle fingers from a red-faced, expletive-screaming dual console captain.

he was pulling a young person on a tube and i was taking my dad to a fishing spot, he came around a turn straight at me. i always follow the rules of the water, especially right of way, but he was pulling his kid at full speed down a relatively narrow creek (half tide, oysters just barely visible but lining the outside bank), so i took the outside bank because i would’ve forced him up near the oysters otherwise. he objected very strenuously to what i thought was a move toward his child’s safety.

can’t buy common sense, and some seem incapable of acquiring it as well.

how strenuously? like whipped your ass strenous or a hand gesture strenuous?

one time I helped this smoking hot biker girl with her bikini top. her old man took strenuous exception.

yes, and no matter how stupid I thought they were I didn’t feel I needed to laugh at them…I’ve pulled many a boat out of somewhere they shouldn’t have been and no matter how dumbass I thought they were I always just passed along some advice on how to navigate the area and what to look for…

ofcourse I wouldn’t have laughed to their face. More like a chuckle and a head shake

I saw a kid about 8 or so slung into an oyster rake up in Cherry Grove a few years ago. He was yelling and screaming for Dad to slow down and all the while the driver was laughing and hollering. They took a hard turn, the tube rolled and the kid went skidding onto the oysters. All I could hear was the kid screaming and crying and asking his Dad why he did that. I am pretty sure alcohol played a role.
