WANT TO GO OFFSHORE ON 28 MAR??

I’m going to be going on a trip offshore this Friday; I’m looking for someone with a good amount of bottom fishing expertise to come along. I need some help mastering anchoring right on top of structure. I have all the equipment and I have a good amount of experience trolling just want to improve on bottom fishing. Depending on the seas/weather we will probably do some trolling as well. Anyone interested that can take the day off on Friday give me a call at (w)910-394-9000 or (c)843-670-6952. We will be leaving out early Friday AM.

Pete, when anchoring on a small area come to a dead stop on top of the spot, drop lines and fish 5 mins. Then go straight back and just past the spot. Depth and drift speed will determin how far past the spot you have to go. Works for me. Good luck. I’m getting old and need calm days.

Krabby,
After you fiqure out the drift and you go past your orginal point over the structure, you want to go about as far as you drifted so you will drift back over the spot in the span of time that it takes your anchor to set(the 5 mins)? or are you talking about just drift fishing over the structure as you pass over it(the 5 mins)? Thanks for the help. -Pete

Sometimes you catch more fish drifting or checking spots. If anchoring in 90’ don’t go past as far as in 130’. It will take practice. I go a little far and let out more rope. When fishing slows let out or take up 20’. Good luck Friday.
