Looking for 2 pieces of 1/4 thick aluminum plate about 6 inches wide or so by 44 inches long or so. This is to repair a issue with my boat. Could make size adjustments as necessary such as splitting a 12 inch wide piece, or other size adjustment. Just looking to see if anyone has anything out there laying around.

You can check with the local fab shops around you. Sometimes they will have a scrap bin that they will let you raid. Hey a couple of bucks and they will shape it out for you as well.
Try one of the scrap metal yards. I bought some aluminum flat bar from Charleston Steel last week for $2 a pound.

Van, I found some at work today. I’ll get it in my truck tomorrow(Thurs. is scrap day at work). They charge me 50 cents per pound for aluminum, so that’s what you’ll end up paying. I’m guessing about 5 bucks. I’ll holler at you when I’ve got it.

In the future, I have found whatever I need at Metal Supermarket off of S. Assembly. Good folks and the prices are not bad. Of course Bob usually comes through.

By the way, Charleston Aluminum is actually considered in Gaston. You can see it from I-26, just past the rest area, on the frontage road. You have to take exit 119.
