Does anyone know anything about the West Ashley Outboard Motor Club? Just found their page, and wanted to get more information. I submitted a request on their page a week ago, but never got anything back.

I know one thing, they let some shady characters out there this past weekend. A bunch of hooligans I tell ya.

When we lived in West Ashley, we were members of the club. They have a limited membership and you have to wait until there is an opening before you can be considered for membership. To be considered you have to be sponsored by two other members in good standing, and you need to attend at least two meetings prior to being considered. They have a fee to join, then a yearly fee after that. Forget to pay the yearly membership by the deadline and you’re out.
It’s a great club, great people, good meetings and good fellowship. And having your own boat landing is fantastic! Totally worth it.
You could stop by when they have their monthly meetings and talk to the members.
I’d recommend it!
Thanks sea tonic. That’s exactly what I was looking for. So – the best way to get information on joining is to just show up at a monthly meeting? Is there any way to find out when that might be happening? It’s really hard to find any solid info on the club. The website is pretty sparse.

Unfortunately I don’t remember when they meet! But there are other members of the club that post on this site…including Joe Haney…AKA Stonoman… You could try contacting him.
We meet the fourth Thursday of the month for fellowship and a meal starting at 6:00 pm followed by our monthly meeting at 7:00 PM. You need to come to a meeting and pick up an application for membership, complete the application then have your boat inspected. If you don’t get in this year you will be on the list if members drop out during the year.
People will forget what you said…
People will forget what you did…
But people will never forget how you made them feel.
