Warm sunday

This constant temp change and high tides has made it difficult for me. I caught six trout and one redfish. I was fishing a redfish bank and when a boat wake went by over 20 fish were exposed. Water super muddy only caught the one red. Hit a trout spot before dark just to catch something else. All six trout were 14-16 inches. Curious to see how others did this weekend

It was slow. Few trout on Voodu glow shrimp under a cork and saw lots of reds but they were not interested in biting. For what its worth, had trouble with bass as well which is my fall back to “just catch fish”. Maybe the lunar phase? Change in temps? Shifting to south winds? Rain …Water felt cold to me but no temp on the Yak.

I fished the late flood yesterday,8 trout in about 45 minutes, all but 2 were short. Water temp was 58.

Never had much luck on full moons in the fall/ Winter especially for the trout. DNR put out a white paper a few years ago telling how the trout have sensitive eyes and prefer to eat on cloudy days and full moons. The key is “prefer” to but they will eat when they are hungry. Also said they rarely travel more than 5 miles from their birth area till they are ready to go off shore as a mature adult.

I’ve always done better with at least bigger trout on lower light days.
