I fished the wahoo tournament 4/9 and 4/10 and got one but only 30lbs on Sunday. High speed trolling all day Monday yielded nothing so we switched to meat in the afternoon and landed 10 dolphin in short order. Radio chatter indicated that most boats were not doing so well so I don’t think they are here thick yet. The boat ran great and the fish will be here soon so I am very excited.

I forgot to add that I’m making bottarga with some roe from the bigger dolphin and wahoo. Recipe is easily available online. Pasta dinner next week!

I made some dolphin bottarga last year. Came out great, and lasts forever once its well dried!

Derek that senator puts so much meat on the boat I can’t even quantify it. I do remember when you were on my boat and had to deal with a 20 lb dolphin on that thing and got your but whooped. I have a whole new spread of Talica 25s and Alutecnos 30s but I still run that Senator because it gets the bites

Yep. Pretty normal day on Angler’s Dream. Trolling can be slow but never on my boat.

Some people have beanbags and some people have fun bags. Both can be useful during long days on the water. I applaud the resourcefulness.
For the record, wahoo sashimi is some of the best sashimi to be had.
No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.
Bottarga is going well.
And the wahoo tacos are superb.
And this has nothing to do with fishing but, enjoy.
