Just wanted everyone to know manatees are still around. On the dock this morning drinking my coffee and had a large one swim under the dock along the grass line 4 ft under me. I’ve never seen one out here in the Toogoodoo. Definitely an amazing way to start the day. I just wanted to let people fishing out this way to be alert. It was headed towards the North Edisto river on incoming tide. DNR has been informed of the sighting via their manatee sighting website.
a couple of weeks ago, my wife and I saw what we thought was a manatee in a small feeder creek off the Toogoodoo! We thought we were seeing things. but i guess it must have been!
Cool!
Sea tonic, it very well could have been the same manatee. We are at the orange dock near the boat ramp. Stop by if you see us out there.

We were gator hunting in the Cooper River Pimlico area on 9/10, and saw a huge commotion going on in a rice field, looked like big fish feeding. We trolled over there to find SIX manatees (at least, could have been more) all in a 20 yard area feeding on something! Was really cool to see.
I’ve seen them in the North Edisto before and in the harbor, but never that far up into the Cooper.

I’ve seen a fair amount of them at the tees over the years.
