Watcha Tyin'......

Swampy, how does that minnow work … So I see all this fly talk, everyone ready to start a swap ??

The minnow was kind of a failure. It only wants to swim sideways so it needs a more little work.

try ep fibers instead of superhair … I will spin one out so you can see what I am talking about, what size hook is it on

I tied some on 1 and 1/0

and a sideways minnow imitates a dead minnow … might catch something, try darker colors … I will tie the EP Fiber minnow tonight

How do you make those fancy eyes Mike? Burn the monofilament and then coat it with something?

Caught my first Chain pickerel today up here in VA on a black M4. That fly kicks a$$

I was practicing spinning deer hair and wanted a tube-like light top water for trout or for the grass flats when the water gets to be too deep. Here is what came out. I’ve yet to let it float. I should have held off on the bead eyes, maybe. I hope to have a window to fish this weekend.

They always turn out so cool when you trim them down, did you use a razor or siscors ?? (**() I can’t spell haha

I used siscors*.

The guys at Lowcounty Flyshop told me razor works perfect and increases the accuracy of the trim, I tied a mouse and they told me it would of been easier to trim with a razor

Ya, I know the razor works better, didn’t have one. Get the double sided thin ones that bend easily. You can cut the hair with the razor bent so you have a uniform round head/body if needed.

must be a double sided blade- flimsy, thinner, and sharper

Yes, the two sided real thin razors works really awesome AND one of those electric and or battery beard/mustache/side burn trimmers works well to…

Any luck these days with shrimp patterns this time of year. I was told that they are mostly a winter months fly. Didnt make alot of sense to me since fish love skrimpies whenever they can get them.
