Water everywhere

Have a 2002 Johnson 115 2 stroke. Was running it in the yard and noticed water pouring out of the anti ventilation area (I think that’s what it’s called) Its just above the water intake where the lower unit and middle section bolt together. Anyone know the problem? Thanks for any help.

If the water is coming out of the seam between the foot and the middle section of the motor, the same seam the bolts that hold the foot on pass through, you do not have an issue. I replaced a water pump on a 115 Evenrude a long time ago when I bolted it back together I noticed water coming from this seem after reinstalling the foot. I thought I had an issue but inquired with a professional and found out this is normal, after a period of time salt and corrosion build up here and the motor does not pass as much water, but regardless there is no problem with water coming out here. I have a late nineties 115 Ocean Runner now, it is a short shaft and it actually has grooves cut just below this seem to allow water and some exhaust to pass.

That is exactly what it is doing. Thank you for your reply. Happy Thanksgiving.
