Just pretend you didn’t learn about the starboard thing. It’ll be fine
put a couple screws in it, and it will probably outlast the boat.
the 5200 will bond to the livewell, the screws will hold the lid in place, and the 5200, once it cures, will act like a gasket.

Ignorance is bliss. But you can’t fool me…you are betting I come back with a photo of me digging out all that glued up starboard and rock hard 5200 for your amusement. I can tell.

I bought me a cheap small cordless screw driver and some chucked drill bits. If this thing last through 8 pilot hole and 8 screws, it’ll have paid for itself and Peapod will be disappointed in my future mis-adventure.
Right now, I’m wondering if I can access the lid by removing the seat. Probably not…so I’m regretting the 5200 bead I put around the tool/tackle box before reinserting it.
Nothing is ever easy.

yeah, 5200 is used very seldom here.
we use it for through hull fittings, screws below the waterline, t-top and leaning post mounts.
most everything else we use silicone

I put a bunch of screws to hold the starboard to the top of the fiberglass livewell tank. It feels pretty secure.
After putting all the screws in place and taking a few pictures, I plugged off the drains and filled the livewell to the brim. There was minor leaking, but not the amount that would overwhelm the bilge pump.
Screws in the top:

More screws and where the leaking is happening. I think they only way to really stop this is to do what Chris said above…fiberglass it in.
That Oatey Puddy filler is hard as steel and has an edge that is holding the starboard in place. I don’t think, however, it is a tight seal.

I am a more than a little surprised at the crappy way the live well lids marriage up. They don’t. There is anywhere from 1/2 inch to over an inch gap between the top of the livewell tank (starboar), to the access hatch and lid. Not very happy about this.

Not long, probably less than 10 minutes. It took longer to type the text and add arrows. Did it CS2 Photoshop. Pictures and diagrams are sometimes better than words.

FILL THE GAP WITH 5200
PUT SOME TAPE UNDER IT TO HOLD THE 5200 UNTIL IT CURES
THE 5200 WILL BOND TO EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE STARBOARD, AND IT SHOULD KEEP THE VAST MAJORITY IF NOT ALL THE WATER WHERE IT BELONGS
