I have had a couple of issues with my engine over the last few weeks. I ran the boat in some shallow stuff and sucked in something that has stopped the peeing. I have run stiff wire up the pee hole to break loose anything while running engine and nothing…I ran the engine last weekend for an hour at variable speeds to get back to the ramp and it didn’t overheat, but the lack of peeing is worrying me. What should I do here…
Other issue…I have had some starting issues on my Yam F115. The engine has always had a slow roll to the starter, but starts up great. Over the last month or two, after running the engine for a long period. I will shut off and try to restart immediately and nothing happens when I turn key. No power there…other power functions on boat (i.e. trim) works fine. After a few tries and checking battery cables for tightness, it cranks fine. I cannot make the problem start, it just happens. I messed with it all day sunday and cranked it at home with water flowing over 50 times and had 50 starts. I read some forums and somebody said something about a loose connection from battery cables from battery to starter or at the relay. I checked all of these and everything was tight and there was no corrosion or wear. ANYBODY GOT ANY IDEAS? I WAS GOING TO TAKE TO THE DEALER TO LOOK AT, BUT IF I CANNOT DEMONSTRATE PROBLEM WITH IT NOT WORKING AND IT RUNS FINE. IT WILL BE HARD TO FIX. Also, my warning buzzer doesn’t “buzz” anymore at startup. anybody have any insight here…?
