How much water should I expect to be in bilge after fishing offshore for a day? I had a good bit last trip, so the next day I put the garden hose in the boat didn’t notice any leaks from thru hulls.
So much depends on the boat and conditions. I would check all of the intakes for the live wells. A loose clamp or cracked hose can be the problem. Filling the boat with water won’t necessarily show the leak.

My livewell liner leaks through the seam between the inner and outer shells at the top if we are rocking around a bit. Its on my list of things to do.
if we are in calm water it wont splash around alot, and I wont get a leak. I dont think it was ever sealed when it was new.
its worth checking into, but mine never caused any trouble until the float switch got stuck and I noticed it was riding a little low.

Boat type and size?
How rough was it while you were running (how much spray did you take)?
Were wet people getting out/in the boat?
Are you sure it was completely dry to start with?
If the boat is sitting still in calm water, she should stay dry. Lots of other stuff can put water in the boat.

After friends boat bilge filled with water, we checked the Lenco trim tabs and found that, from the factory the screws, nor the holes for the wires/cables had been sealed. We sealed them up, float test was yesterday and all was good.

My old Mako would have a couple of gallons in the bilge after a normal trip, rough water the bilge kicked on every so often. I kept a back up and installed a secondary in that boat. The Pioneer might give enough to wet the bottom of a cup after a day no matter the conditions we’ve been in on it.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Its a 2013 nautic star 2000xs, found trash in the auto bilge pump had blown the fuse thats why the water was in the bilge, gonna take it to the lake on my next days off and see if I can see anything. I installed the trim tabs myself I sealed them good so I don’t think they leak. How water tight are hatches in the splashwell we backed into the waves a few times so maybe thats where it came from.
Most hatches leak a bit when hit by a good splash. All the seals do is slow it down most of the time.

i would start buy getting a new plug. Those things can become leaky and it can be hard to detect. since filling up the bilge water the pressure is light and it will barley leak and run down the hull unnoticed. When its in the water it leaks in faster.

My plug is not removable after you unscrew it so that is not that easy.
