115 eTEC, 2013 stalling when running at full throttle, engine just dies. Changed Racor filter, fuel was cloudy. Ran boat on 6 gal. portable tank direct to engine, same thing. So now back on boat tank. Changed eTEC filter on o/b, def had sediment and small amount of water. Still stalling at high rpm’s. Going to change filter on o/b this weekend, and go back on portable tank with fresh high octane fuel. Also thinking I should spike with Seafoam, maybe 300:1 two stroke too. Should I pump tank on boat? Any suggestions?
The only thing I know for sure is that if you have water in the fuel, DON’T RUN THE ENGINE until you find out where it’s coming from and have fixed it. That’s a great way to destroy a 2 stroke powerhead!

DCM – Change the outboard filter and drain gas check fuel lines to make sure they are not seperating inside (the gray gas lines will seperate on you )!!! Run unleaded regular gas mixed with oil like regular but also 1 can of seafoam in a 6 gal tank and run !! Do not run built in tank if u think it has water in it – will blow engine if it has water in it !!!
Update: Changed filter on motor, drained lines best as I could, then ran boat to ramp on auxiliary tank with 93 and 300:1 mix. Pulled boat, pumped 30 gallons out, changed WS filter in bilge. Filled boat with fresh 93, Startron and Seafoam. Back to ramp, launched and ran tests…all good now. I filled several Gatorade bottles through the pumping process for observation. So now what to do this Fall when winterizing boat? Fill it, empty it? Our winters are much longer up here in NJ so it’s sitting for five months.
