on off…and hard brstle brush. dont get on trailer
FSR is a gel that you “paint on” with a disposable brush and then basically just rinse it off and the stain is gone. Been using it for years without a problem. On and off can be a little harsh on your boat if not used properly.

On off
However they also make a gel a little less messy. Make sure to pre-soak the trailer and wash off thoroughly.

Attwood sells a product through walmart…hull cleaner. Works well.
we use on/off
like mentioned
wet trailer first, make sure hull stays dry
wipe on the cleaner, and before you get one side done, where you started will already be clean
Bar Keeper’s Friend is the same agent that’s in On-Off: oxalic acid. On-Off is harsher because it also contains hydrochloric and phosphoric acids (pretty nasty stuff). You can also go even safer than BKF by going to a pool store and buying pure ascorbic acid (or order it online for a lot less money). It’s pure vitamin C and won’t hurt you at all. You can eat it. Leslie’s Pools sells it in powdered form. You also can buy almost pure oxalic acid in powdered form at Truluck Pools, bottled as (if I recall correctly) “Pool Stain Treat”, by United Chemical. Powered form is debatably less dangerous to handle than liquid, so they say. The powder is also concentrated, so you could use just a little, and it might go a long way. I’ve used both of these products to remove metal stains from fiberglass/gelcoat. They work best directly applied, but I’ve also put the powder in a sock before, wet the sock, rubbed the stuff on a spot, and it magically disappears. It works about the same with ascorbic or oxalic, but the latter is stronger (but no more effective if done right). You can also mix them with water and use like you would the liquid product, of course. They both work well for metal stains, and a lot of times, that’s what you’re fighting when you have a stain that won’t come off and is not raised. Just giving some more options here.

Raggedy Azz 17ft Boat With A Blowed Up Motor But Still Wining Money!!!
Been using attwood hull cleaner from walmart found out
go to home depot, get Rust Aid for removing stains from your house
siding is same stuff a whole lot cheaper than hull cleaner.
Spray on rinse off with hose Works Great. Takes off all that yellow
stain from creek or river.
Second the Rust Aid. $9 per Gallon at Lowes.
It is easy to use and is not harsh on the Boat.
You will find it in the plumbing section.
FSR was easy and required no elbow grease. wear a glove. it removed the stains off my whaler hull. I was sceptical bc of the age of the gel coat. completly removed the stains.
I really like the BKF. Cheap and very effective. Wax after using though. Don’t forget about the Magic Eraser sponges too. They work awesome with just water…but more elbow grease.
Being superstitious is bad luck.
Aurora Waterline Stain Remover good stuff
Roger at Coastal Marine reccomended the Rust Aid a few years back–and I will tell you the stuff works. It gets rid of yellow stain with literally one wipe. I just applied to one side, then rinsed and the yellow was gone.
