is there a way to check your pump out to see how it is working? I have a 04 F150 with 300 hrs on it, and it has never been changed out, I think I am checking the records now.

check the pee stream, and check the head temp at idle, or install a water pressure gauge

Even if the pump is generally in good condition now, all this salt makes it tough on some engines to get the foot loose. I try to change out mine every few years before I see problems, and to hopefully prevent any of the fasteners from siezing due to built up corrosion. Some motors do not have this issue of course.
