Water Rehab

Last dive I made, Thur Dec. 22, a 50# Cubera stabbed me in the elbow, didn’t know it until Sat night with a swollen hot Joint. Spent Christmas day in the ER with an IV full of Antibiotics. Recovered enough to have knee surgery Tue morning the 27th. After a week of rest I needed some water therapy. Don’t fish much inshore do to all the offshore fishing/diving/hunting/wifeing/working! Offshore weather sucked all year and I needed a fix after seeing all the inshore slaughter going on! Hooked up the new(to me) G3and headed to the Dawhoo.
First three casts produced a 24"trout and two slot Reds. Water 59Deg and nice. Put 20+ slot reds in the boat on Copper colored paddle tails while my partner Rod, inshore Guru of 40 years caught 3 on mud minnows and live shrimp.
Second day of therapy fished with inshore Guru Marvie Benford and Dad Marvelous Marvin in the ICW behind Isle Palms. Cold, windy but the fish were on. We caught 20+ Reds the biggest 27" and two rats, all on Shrimp or cut Mullet. Didn’t catch a fish on artificial bait. I’ll assume the difference between baits in the two areas was the 9deg temp differance. One more day of water therapy and I may be able to go back to work, back to the Toogadoo tomorrow morning before winter sets in.

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

Elbow must be feeling much better now!!! Throwing artificials all day must really help! Congrats, sounds like you’re having fun!!
