Water Temp.

Anyone have an update on what the water temp. is in the creeks after last nights freeze, along with the rain/snow? I know it is only going to continue through the evening and into tomorrow, but have been worried about temps/trout. Thanks.

I know no one is out in this just wondering if anyone have noticed temps from docks etc.

I doubt the creeks froze last night. The water standing in my driveway (on mud) didn’t even start to freeze. Tonight, however, might be a very different story.

The creeks will not freeze. I am wondering about water temp. only.

Whoops, sorry about that, I misread your post. We had a thread during the last hard chill talking about the mud freezing.

Thanks Optiker. Great website. No worries Matt. Seems like water temp is holding up well enough. Gonna go hit some spots this weekend with hopefully some good results.

Water temps. here at Edisto have been below 45 for the last 4 days in the major creeks.

Is there one for Port Royal Sound/Beaufort? I could not seem to find it if there is one. There is one for Clarendon Plantation but it only has tides.

Should come up a few degrees through the weekend and into first part of next week. I am sure glad this cold snap is over…for now.

My wife is kind of a weather groupie (though not on Bonzo’s level) and according to her, there is another one of these “deep freeze” systems with snow/ice coming in mid February. Hope she/it is wrong.

Yep. It’s over on the West Coast now.

I hope it doesn’t dip as far south this time.

I am wondering if anyone is thinking about all them poor fish in the cold…go catch them and take them into your warm house or even better toss them in some hot grease.Last friday i went to kiawiah and say a dead 14in. spottail on the low tide water line. No fish were caught either. had all the baits!!!Scary

Upper Ashley this afternoon was 39-40 :(. No sign of life.
Lower Ashley was 33-34. Caught 2 reds OTF.

Wow, that’s chilly.

Upper Wando was 43 this morning (2/1/2014) at high tide.

These temperatures sound bad.

I was hoping to get out and see for myself this morning. Got up and dressed, had a cup of coffee, walked outside and saw it was raining, went back to bed.

I’m really in a meteorologist-hating mood right now.
