I could not believe my always reliable Furuno when I was getting 91F in shallow harbor water today - - anybody else get this high? BTW, caught a 36 inch-plus red on cut fresh mullet at a harbor dock. I had the drag locked down , I thought, and he took out as much as he wanted, then, after 2 runs, he gave up and floated in without any further resistance. I was having trouble getting the circle hook out of the corner of his mouth, so I cut the leader right at his mouth in order to not kill him and to hurry to reviving him to let him go - - never stoped for a picture, you’ll just have to take my word for it. I did drop a yardstick in the water next to him; he was slightly longer than a yard, said Home Depots’s yard stick (not mine). Those arc dehookers are not the magic they say they are for me. Rather than take the chance of taking any more time to work the ##!!**** dehooker, I cut him off and did the reviving thing. After the second kick, I let him go and he ambled away under his own power. Really a WoW afternoon. Highest water temp I have Ever seen . . . anybody alse?
I saw 88 on my stream thermometer Saturday and Sunday in the Wando. Stepped onto a flat and it had to be in the 90’s

cole creek off folly was 90 at low tide two weeks ago, i’m sure it’s still hovering around there. solid 88 in folly river 5 days ago.
good on ya horsing the fish in and making a swift release your priority- dissolved oxygen is is very low in the water right now, and the big reds are gonna be staging to spawn soon. i trust you and the home depot stick, anything over a yard is a real nice fish!
Thanks for the temps confirmations - - there has to be consequences for these kinds of temps; don’t know what they all are. So, I can continue to trust the aging Furuno, and the Home Depot yardstick
