Cleared the jetties at 5.30am and ran out at 40mph on a flat ocean…great ride out and lines were in the water by 7am in 140. Fished near edisto banks. Very slow start with a couple missed knock downs. Trolled out to 300 with no action so we came back to the ledge.
After the doldrums set in we finally got some action when a sail showed up in the prop wash and hit one of the flat lines. Got a hook into her which she spit back at us after a few good jumps. Stayed in 180 for the next hour and picked up 6 dolphin (4 gaff worthy, a slinger and a peanut who was released to be caught another day) and missed another 4 or 5.
Saw the agressor flying 7 sailfish flags on the way back in. Heard they had 13 shots and also had a blue on for 30 minutes. Their charter must have been estatic.
