This is kind of an all encompassing report for the last several days. Here goes:
Last week I was on a dive job in Annapolis Harbor. I only saw one hypodermic heroin syringe floating in the water. I chock that up as a win. Decent dive and not too stressful work.
Flew back from Maryland on Saturday and got picked up at the airport and went straight to Georgia for the opening day of dove season. Great time blasting birds, and then stayed at a primo private hunting cabin.
Made it back to Charleston Sunday with just enough time to mow the lawn. Didn’t even unpack, because after the lawn I headed straight to Garden City for some R and R.
There hasn’t been much to the surfing as it’s pretty flat, but it’s still pretty fun with my longboard. The water is pretty blue as well.
I have managed to catch 19 flounder this week so far. All on anything artificial that resembles a shrimp or mullet. I only caught one rat red…I can’t seem to locate them, but this is a completely new area to me. All fish caught low tide coming in, primarily wading and or kayaking.
6 more this morning on the incoming tide. The shrimp are so thick they are jumping in the kayak. So at 5 am in the darkness I have shrimp all over me on the paddle to the fishing spots. I wish they were a little bigger.
Correction: The water on the beach is a “greenish” not blue.
I like this ‘waterman’ type of report. I thought I was the only one. I am in the water all the time depending on what mother nature allows for during that time.
Chasing the swell, tide and windless days allows for opportunities where surfing, fishing and general relaxation can be put into practice.
When I saw “primo” used as an adjective, I figured you surfed. Great report. Makes me want to get my fat a$$ back in shape so I can get my longboard back in the water.
