With the wife and daughter in Garden City on a little family vacation. Weather has been hot but nice. Yesterday I caught 5 flounder at dawn and was back home by 730 am. This morning I missed 4. One break off and 3 (I am assuming) bad hook sets. I could tell all 4 were big. I also managed to fall out of my kayak for the first time! Kind of disheartening. There’s always tomorrow.
Surf has been fairly decent for this area. Hovering around the chest/waist high range. Very clean in the mornings. Some nice lines.

Caught 10 more flounder this morning. All fish on artificial. Didn’t fall out of kayak this time!
I caught 9 more flounder this morning on a variety of artificials. Fish caught between low and mid tide. Slow bump on the bottom. I think this brings my flounder total up to 24 since Thursday. Had the traditional family fish fry this evening. Tasty!

Man am I jealous. I’m working the artificial also and manage a few but nothing over 4 or so and most are too small, but fun to catch.
