Had a big boat, small boat, big boat weekend. Friday, on Water’s Edge, managed to go 1-1 on Blue Marlin and 0-1 on Sailfish along with a decent wahoo and some nice black sea bass. Saturday, on Never Satisfied, went 1-2 on Sailfish and 0-1 on Blue Marlin after about a 20 minute intense show from 275-300# on a TLD 25 and getting it just about 30 or so ft from getting the leader in hand. Also had a nice gaffer and got cut off by a wahoo. Sunday, back on Water’s Edge, 1-2 on Blue Marlin and 2-3 on Sailfish along with a slinger and a 38# bull. Not a great weekend for filling up a cooler with meat, but some real good billfishing out there right now. Could have put up some more impressive numbers with a better average on the billfish, but I’ll take a weekend like that anytime. All the fishing was between the 340 to the 530 line in 250’ to 360’. No edges or any great surface features, but was marking some decent bait on the sounder at times.
Jamie Holcombe, you can catch my friend. Congrats on the blue wahoo dolphin sail madness - sounds like one hell of a weekend. Hope to be able to ride with you again soon.
To all out there looking for a charter, or wanting to learn how to catch, book a charter with Jamie. The time I have spent with him on the water has been priceless.
And if you book a trip… invite me pleez, for ultimate catching experience.
