Way Out in the Blue at the Charleston Bump Video

Headed 84 miles offshore to the Charleston Bump on the Blue Dreams to do some daytime swordfishing, troll for pelagics on the way back to the ledge and finish the day with some bottom bumping with the Shimano Stella 14000 https://amzn.to/2LPoOqs

The last time I went swordfishing in Charleston was in May of 2009. We dropped lines as the sun was setting. We instantly hooked into a monster which jumped in front of the boat, charged and broke off on the motors. At that point I knew there were big fish offshore of Charleston that were not being targeted by anyone and I was hooked. I went every month thereafter with no success until October when a friend of mine, Riley Sea, and I took both our boats out together. That night we each caught eight 47 inch swordfish and a giant thresher shark which we released. In November we tried daytime swordfishing at the same spot and immediately hooked up with a monster. I loss two swordfish in the months to follow and then I sold my offshore boat. Since 2009, I have not been able to find anyone that wanted to venture that far offshore, until now.

Another nice trip and video. I still can’t figure out how you find the time out there to get all of that, :stuck_out_tongue:! I can barely find time to eat and reapply sunscreen!
