Way up the ashley

So everyday on my way up to Dorchester for camp good times I go over a bridge(?) and pass rivers edge marinas and there’s a boat landing on right. Is it a public landing and what’s the status of it? I kinda wanna take the boat up there on day. What’s the fishing like there? Is there good flats or deep docks and stuff fishing, how about the bridge for sheepshead? Just trying to decide to tale the flats boat(14’ Jon) or bay boat up there.
Thanks!

Fishing is a delusion entirely surrounded by liars in pfgs and buffs.

Thats the W.O. Thomas landing. Chas Co Parks and Rec public landing. Gets pretty busy on weekends but stays moving and no trouble from theft or break-ins that I know of. I put in there all the time. I run my 14’ Malibu all through the area all the way down past the Cosgrove bridge almost into the harbor. Just be careful as the flats come way out during high tide. You’ll be 50 yards from the bank and only in 3-4 feet of water in some areas. Deepest water I’ve seen there is 30’ at peak.

Looking for a 8-10’ Jon

Yak, we launch from there about 70 percent of the time when we are going to the Harbor, no problems about 15 minute ride

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

Even put the Kayak in sometimes and paddle around … days good, weekends bad

Yak,
Easy ramp to launch from, plenty of flats and docks around, oyster rakes as well. I run the area in a 19’CC (not a bay boat) with no problem. It can get sporty with the right wind/current combo, may make a day in a jon boat uncomfortable.

It’s funny you say that ramp is way up the Ashley… it’s an hour down the Ashley from my dock.

yeah accabe flats are right across from there pretty sure, decent fishing in that area
